02/07/2025 – MULBERRY, Ark. –
The City of Mulberry is celebrating a major milestone with the opening of the new Silver Bridge, a long-awaited improvement that enhances safety, connectivity, and emergency response times for residents on both sides of the Mulberry River.
This $8.8 million project replaces the aging Silver Bridge, which had been closed due to structural concerns. The old bridge’s weight restrictions prevented emergency vehicles and school buses from crossing, forcing long detours that delayed critical services. With the new bridge now open, first responders can reach residents faster in emergencies, and school buses can safely transport students without taking extended routes.
The 622-foot-long structure, built to modern safety standards, ensures stability and flood resistance, making it a reliable route for daily travel and commerce. This bridge is more than just an infrastructure upgrade—it’s a boon for Mulberry, strengthening public safety, economic growth, and regional connectivity for years to come.
